Ideas and Resources

Get ideas and resources for your own event

If you can’t join us in Delhi for the Climate Camp or the Global Day of Action on 12th December, then you can take action closer to home. Check the Global Day of Action facebook page and see if there is an event already happening in your town or city. If there isn’t then maybe you would like to organise one and let us know.

Here are some ideas for events you can organise. It doesn’t have to be big, and it can be on any day if the 12th doesn’t suit you.

  • Hand out leaflets on your high st or at a local market telling people why we need to take action – see below for downloadable materials
  • Maybe you’re a musician, why not use a concert to promote the need to take action against climate change
  • Have a climate change themed party or dinner, not sure what that would look like, but it’s your chance to get creative… – again see below for information you can give to your guests

    Hello,

Working hard to stop cutting trees in rainforest is hight appreciated.
Ww could also compensate lost forest by planting saplings wherever there is space. This can be done with in co-ordination with defence forces, schooles and colleges. spread the forest in this way into areas we control.

    Dear Sir/Madam,
We are working with Rickshaw Pullers in many cities of India and our campaign ‘ Save Rickshaw – Save Environment’ promises vehicular pollution reduction in huge cities like Delhi.
We request and expect your support to reduce CO2 emission of Delhi and other cities of India. Small steps like this may create difference on ground level.
    Need your opinion too.

    Hi,
We all know how devastating the effects of global warming is. We have been playing with mother earth for billions of year and I’m sure most you would agree that it would take more than that to revert this ill effects. Climate change should be on everyone’s agenda, but giving a second though, India and other developing countries have more important things to worry about. The average lifestyle of a person from a developed country is 100 times better that the average lifestyle of a developing country. I’m sure the hunger of people should concern us (Indian) more than the climate change caused by developed countries for these many years. They have reached the pinnacle of success and hence they can afford for these kind of emission cuts, but India on the other hand does not have that many energy resources to conserve and develop itself at the same time. We(Indians) should definitely adopt more environment friendly sources of energy but not at the cost of our development or rather I should say on the cost of thousands of peoples food. Think again…we cannot be overpowered by developed countries. We have our brain and our very education and experienced PM and Environment minister will take steps in favor of our nation and the world.
We should imbibe our faith in our leaders and support then. We must personally try to conserve energy in every possible way.

    hello…

By 2010 A.D., India will have to produce 300 million tonnes of food grains to feed her 1.5 billion population (approx.). This target cannot be realized from irrigated areas alone as we have irrigation potential for 178 million hectares only. Therefore, we will have to evolve an appropriate technology for dry land farming. On the other hand, we can say that second ‘green revolution’ in Indian agriculture can be had in rainfed/dryland agriculture. This is important to improve the standard of living of farmers residing in these areas as well..

  9. keshab hazarika Says:

    hi everyone….

Genetically-modified foods have the potential to solve many of the world’s hunger and malnutrition problems, and to help protect and preserve the environment by increasing yield and reducing reliance upon chemical pesticides and herbicides. Yet there are many challenges ahead for governments, especially in the areas of safety testing, regulation, international policy and food labeling. Many people feel that genetic engineering is the inevitable wave of the future and that we cannot afford to ignore a technology that has such enormous potential benefits. However, we must proceed with caution to avoid causing unintended harm to human health and the environment as a result of our enthusiasm for this powerful technology.
