North East Environmental Youth Movement (NEEYM) in collaboration with Delhi Greens, Bee Net Manipur, Manipur University joins hands to call for green action on the “Global Day of Climate Action”

“GLOBAL DAY OF CLIMATE ACTION”

Painting Competition for students at ECO Park, Manipur University. From 11.30am to 3.30pm.
Mural painting and the Candle Light Vigil in the Manipur University premises from 4 to 6pm.
These programs are organized by NEEYM in collaboration with Delhi Greens, Bee Net Manipur, and Manipur University.

Climate change and global warming have taken centre stage as the world looks up to Copenhagen, where world leaders are meeting in December to find a solution to save the planet from its biggest threat: climate change. World leaders have been more than hesitant to take a positive stand on fighting climate change, and this complacency is unacceptable.

December 12th, 12/12 – is the midpoint of the Copenhagen climate talks. At this crucial moment, governments around the globe need to hear a clear, simple message from people everywhere: The time has come to sign a fair, ambitious, and binding climate treaty.

December 12, 2009 will be observed as the Global Day of Climate Action. As a part of the Global Day of Action, a CITIZEN’s UNITE which would involve people from all walks of life would be organized in the streets of the North Eastern capital city of Imphal.

NEEYM invites people from the region to come and participate in this Global Day of Climate Action being celebrated at Kangla and Manipur University.
