World leaders have failed us. They have walked away from the global summit in Copenhagen without a treaty to save the climate. They still have a chance to get it right and we will not let them fail. The future of 6.5 billion people is at stake… You are one of them.
They are not done yet, and neither are we.
Together with other environmental and social justice groups, we are building the biggest movement civil society has ever witnessed to demand our leaders take action against climate change.
Send your message to leaders telling them that they are NOT DONE YET!

Please don’t mix politics issues in this noble activity.
December 16th, 2009 at 9:40 am
Not really in favor of lighting candles. Candles would lead to waste of hydro carbons and so much more CO2. Any other method u guys have?
December 16th, 2009 at 9:55 am
Its not important how we do but what we do is important. Now time is gone were we pass the blame on each other. We and most importantly our policy maker realize that if they don’t act now then we must be ready for the worst. Its not about developing vs developed its about our future and we care of it then we must all pledge that we all must and should contribute to this effort.

Please save the planet for us and future generations. Save extinction of species and give a chance to our kids to see them live rather than in museums and as a lost, extinct category of animals, species. It is in your hands to save the planet. PLEASE, PLEASE Commit.

Let us not hesitate to sacrifice minor pleasures for the sake of long term good.
December 16th, 2009 at 10:29 am
Let us work now to make the planet earth livable to our progeny. As said by Mahatma Gandhi ” Every body in this world has for his needs but not for his greediness” Let us do our part to save the climate and avoid catastrophe later.
December 16th, 2009 at 10:37 am
Do not waste our natural resources. Use them wisely. Hope better sense prevails.
December 16th, 2009 at 11:09 am
I agree that our leaders should set goals at the climate summit… But let us not forget that we have a solemn duty to set goals for ourselves and abide by them… If each one of us shows true commitment and an ardent desire to make the world a better place, such summits will not be necessary in the future!!
Peace

Strict rules to be followed by government.
December 16th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
One simple thought: What every one(either politician or big industrialist) is earning, left for the next generation( and wish they will enjoy it). But now, what we are doing with our climate, can our next generation will be able to enjoy it.
So I request to all human being to consider their duty for climate. otherwise we will loss our planet.

I have already started myself to do business in Renewable energy to avoid future problems of environment ., So why dont you go for mutual understandings on grown nations & undergrowing nations.
Grown nations should show their broad mind in this regard & undergrowth nations should understand their past role of emmission means, they were also not known that, this situation will happen to save the world .
For god say, make deal successful to servive in this world.
My work is going on to send emails to make their brain wash of the Indian big industrialists to convert their oil/gas/coal fired boilers into renewable energy., which is as follows :

Introducing Renewable Energy with SAVING in CRORES
—————————————————-
Sub : “ INTRODUCTION of semi FBC Briquette firing system for existing Boilers “
Dear Sir,
We would like to introduce ourselve that, have invented new semi FBC Briquette Firing System for conversion of oil fired boilers into semi fbc Briquette firing system to achieve the original rated steam output of oil fired boilers for which it is designed by boiler manufacturer .
After conversion into semi FBC Briqutte firing system , the Boiler will get the rated steam output @ 87 +_ 4% thermal efficiency means just like a oil fired boiler, but with large amount of SAVING IN CRORES ( approx. 1Crore/ 1 TPH boiler/ annum ).
This semi fbc Briquette firing System is fully automatic, which works look like fully automatic oil / gas fired boiler with 100% rated steam output & with new parameters of non polution contents of renewable energy. Is it not advantage ?
If you have already converted your boiler in to ordinary external furnace –(Briquette firing) , We have a solution to incorporate our semi fbc system in that furnace also, to increase your boiler thermal efficiency by 20 to 25 % with saving of briquette fuel & to get the 80 % of original rated steam output inplace of 40 – 45 % , bymeans no need to run the boilers on reduced capacity . Is it not beneficial ?
So, what do you think ? Hurry up ! Send your enquiry, we will back to you in short .
We have 26 years experience in the feild of boiler manufacturing , erection- commissionig, sevicing, trouble shooting, modification in designs, etc. Therefore we request you to give us a chance to show our ability of invented project first time in India & to become our first most valued customer /creditor by encouraging our small scale industry .
Hopes, your prompt action in this regard !
Thanking you with best regards.
Yours Truely

Dear leaders of the world
Just take a moment to reflect on the blessing God had bestowed on us in the form of Mother Earth. In the last 100 to 150 years we have caused more damage to this gift by our so-called “great” discoveries in the form of fossil fuels, cement, chemicals, paints, CFCs and other pollutants than in all existence of creation prior to that. It is time we wake up and do whatever is possible to save Mother Earth for our children and theirs. Let us not squabble on petty things like saving money on this issue. It is a noble cause. Let us work together and contribute our mite. Save the Earth for love of God and our children.

December 16th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
Dear leaders
The onus lies in your hands. Please act now and come to a unified decision.Take the right decision for the world and now!
December 16th, 2009 at 2:12 pm
You want to waste this entire meeting?
December 16th, 2009 at 2:29 pm
We need a real deal NOW! Because millions of people, who suffers the first blow of climate change, also have a right to leave in this world. Its a tragic fact that only the leaders have the power to save there future. So do something constructive instead of playing nasty political games. Just make a deal that finally benefits all of us.
Already the research on renewable energy sources have taken a huge upturn. If we have some specific restrictions on carbon emission, that will effectively bring more and more money to this research area and we shall have more progress. In effect, the development will never stop. So, please do not try to take the easy way.
December 16th, 2009 at 2:32 pm

We want our planet to be saved from the arrogant human invasion.Development or progress of mankind can’t be supported at the expense of environmental decays. It’s the earth which feeds us.It’s the earth which has let the human civilization to flourish on its soil. And now we are destroying the planet which has nurtured us.End of earth means end of us.So my request to the world leaders would be, please perforate the iron curtain of diplomatic obstacles rather than perforating the ozone layer. Please act.Otherwise it’s the end of everything.

December 16th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
Heal the world make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human race. Lets not make this world a gas chamber the west should realise that they are able to talk of the issue of green house gases because they have come a long way in industrialisation so it is for their interest to provide the tehologies to the developing countries at a cheaper price and countries especially India should come out of the hypocritcal best, just igniting a propoganda to egg people on for getting votes only to save the people from inhaling and drinking poison everyday. We have seen the backlash of the auto drivers which are now an illegial fleet to let them drive them and imagine the tons of pollutents like carbon monoxide, and carcenogenic smokes belched by the buses and public transports everyday it should be the fundemental right of every citizen to get access to air and water sans pollutions. Every citizen should fight for their right to pure air and right to pure water We should see that the political parties have pollution control in their agenda it is really a shame that our so called leaders of the nation can’t give the citizen a pollution country shame on us to because we are choosing them to power I think we should be ashamed first.
December 16th, 2009 at 4:23 pm
In India the phenomenon of global warming has not yet been an election agenda. The politicians speak a lot about opponent leaders. But they promote the development of auto mobile, other industries and corporate agriculture.
The industrial agriculture with chemicals is responsible for 30% global warming. We are not interested in solar energy, battery operated car.More car means more investment which leads to higher GPDs.This is the mainstream development paradigm.
We do not encourage cycling. There is no lanes for cycling.WE prefer ACs and other electrical gadgets. How many car owners will use public vehicle at least a day in a week. There is booming motor bike industry. It finds a ready market among young generations.
Can we change our mind set? When? Can we quite smoking?
There are safer alternatives.

PLEASE HELP TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER AND HABITABLE PLACE> PLEASE BE HUMAN AND ACT HUMANE.
December 16th, 2009 at 4:30 pm
We scold very poor ignorant parents deserting their Children in dust bin unable to feed and grow them. But the rich nations put the whole mankind in dust bin just for present corporate gain. What are we going to Do? Lighting their immature minds of darkness is need of the hour in making and taking right decision. Let us light the candle for global green peace. Let us tell them that we are ready to burn ourselves to save the globe and give it safe to our grand childrendr.

December 16th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
Now time has come for the Indian Govt. to act fast.
Production of clean energy only to be permitted. All commercial building
to be constructed with green rated technology.Polluted fuel banned.Alowed public bus pool only. Private vehicle should be banned in public route.
December 16th, 2009 at 5:34 pm
At last the leaders are making an attempt for a consensus.
Kudos to all who made it happen.
We need to opt for more non-polluting renewable sources of energy to attain our goal of a green earth.
Pushing our leaders to bring in more stringent laws to attain this goal is only one part of the whole process.
The other part is, we as inhabitants (each one of us) of this planet need to contribute for the sake of this planet by being more sensible by ourselves in making this a better place to live in.
Act now!!!
December 16th, 2009 at 5:42 pm
its clear that our leaders are aware of the irreversible consequences of climate change that Copenhagen summit is going on a global level.but it should not go waste n some concrete measures should be taken.
they have support of masses in this,so i really wish something fruitful should come out.whatever happens,i pledge to use natural resources like water judiciously.i request all to be sensitive towards nature n atleast save electricity, water etc.we can keep on wrkng at our own levels.
December 16th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Please save the environment for the future generation,my grand children and many innocent children will suffer the consequences if the Western countries dont co-operate.Their future generation will also suffer.PLEASE co-oprate

Let the candle show right path to the so called world leaders to take right decisions in curbing the emissions
December 17th, 2009 at 3:48 am
Good Mornong all,
Without earth there is nothing in this world, so please all people around the world come and save our earth, ourinduviduale earth
please come
December 17th, 2009 at 4:08 am
Dear All,
Though its good to see that many people are getting together to fight the odd of Global Warming, still its sad that we are uniting here for a cause which means end of world / humanity.
Anyway, lets do all out bit to save our ‘Mother Earth’ in all possible ways….be it by supporting this forum….or by not using plastic bags….or by saving electricity and water…..or by spreading awareness
December 17th, 2009 at 5:12 am
The onus lies on the industrialised and so called developed nations. They need to take the lead in curbing carbon emission in their own countries first and then assist the so called developing world follow. Its these industrialised world that has in a shamelessly irresponsible manner looted Mother Earth of her resources and they should not expect us to pay for that. There should not be any compromise on the issue of equitable ceiling on per capita carbon emission limit and the world leaders agreeing on that.
December 17th, 2009 at 5:35 am
Dear all, i feel we have wasted enough time just “discussing” climate issues. It frustrates me. Lets at least act individually and contribute our bit to save mother earth. The LEAST we can do I HAVE LISTED BELOW AS PER MY KNOWLEDGE…
1. PLANT MORE AND MORE AND MORE TREES. AND MIND U, THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE AT ALL TO IT. GREEN EARTH SHOULD BE OUR MOTTO…
2. CARRY OUR OWN BAGS TO SHOP AND DO NOT USE PLASTIC BAGS. THIS SHOULD BE DONE OR FOLLOWED IMMEDIATELY AND IT SURE HELPS A LOT.
3. RECYCLE ALL POSSIBLE THINGS AND NOT KEEP BUYING NEW STUFF ALL THE TIME. FOR EXAMPLE, COVERS, WASTE WATER, CLOTHES ETC.
4. HARVESTING PRECIOUS RAIN WATER IN EACH AND EVERY HOUSE AND ALSO PRESERVING LAKES AND RIVERS AND NOT POLLUTE THEM.
5. TRY TO USE SOLAR ENERGY WHEREVER POSSIBLE.
6. TRY TO CAR POOL, CYCLE SMALL DISTANCES, AND USE PUBLIC TRANSPORT REGULARLY.
7. STOP GOING ON A MADDENING AND RECKLESS SHOPPING SPREE AND END UP BUYING THINGS THAT WE CAN LIVE WITHOUT!! DO NOT FALL FOR ALL THAT “DISCOUNTS AND EXCITING SALE” STUFF!!!
8. STOP USING INORGANIC FOOD PRODUCTS AND DISCOURAGE ARTIFICIAL/PROCESSED FOODS.
9. USE RECYCLED WASTE WATER AT HOME FOR GARDENING, FLUSHING TOILETS, WASHING CARS ETC
10. SWITCH OFF A/C, LIGHTS, AND OTHER GADGETS WHEN NOT IN USE!!!
11. START COMPOSTING DAILY KITCHEN WASTE AND USE IT FOR GARDENS AS MANURES INSTEAD OF BUYING CHEMICAL FERTILIZERS!!! IT GOES A LONG WAY, BELIEVE ME! IT PREVENTS LOTS OF UNWANTED CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES FROM FLOURISHING AND POLLUTING THE ENVIRONMENT.
12. STOP BUYING AND USING TISSUE PAPERS FOR EVERY SMALL THING. SAVE THE TREES FROM THE PAPER INDUSTRY, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
13. LAST, BUT NOT THE LEAST, EDUCATE KIDS, FRIENDS, AND PEOPLE AROUND TO CURB ALL UNECOFRIENDLY PRACTICES. SPREAD THE WORD LIKE FIRE TO SAVE MOTHER EARTH FROM DISASTER !!!
THESE ARE FEW THINGS THAT I CAN THINK OF NOW, AND IM TRYING TO FOLLOW ATLEAST 90% OF THE THINGS MENTIONED ABOVE!!! IM TRYING HARD TO ACHIEVE 100% !!!
HOPE IT HELPLS SOMEONE TO JUST TO START THINKING AT LEAST FROM NOW ON!!!!!!
THANKS AND REGARDS.

The entire mankind has realised the impending catastrophe which could wipeout all living beings and yet one fails to understand the meaning of democratic world where majority opinion is respected. The future of those who are in Copenhegen also depends on us and yet they ignore ur concern-plase send this message before all of them return more divided than ever, leaving the earth at the mercy of power wielders. Can they hold us hostage to their selfish interest?
December 17th, 2009 at 6:41 am
Make segregation of solid waste at home itself a law.
Plant ,preserve and nourish the planted trees
see to that the present cultivable land is not converted into real estates.
At any cost do not reduce the water catchmant areas. If possible increase it.
Educate the literates and illiterates about the harmful effect of plastics burning, rubber burning and if possible punish them by law.
Insist on electrial bulbs manufacturing companises inthe world to stop manufacturing tungsten filament lamps and go in for compressed florescent lamps and other advanced technology lamps, which do not increase heat, consumes lesser energy with a higher lighting area.
Population explosion is one more cause to be governed, particularly do developing and under developed countries.Make two child norms for one family ,as a universal law.More population means only more devastation of natural wealth, which is transilated to so many unsettled problems later on.
these are the points related to India, where ,if ,wvery Indian wish we can solve the above problems.
Let every individual from every country contributes, individually and collectively to reduce global warming.
As this global warming is more due to industrial nations, let them do their might in reducing the warming and also at the same time not to pass on the burden to the developing and under develped nations.
December 17th, 2009 at 8:06 am
i am sure it is not required to suggest measures for the protection of our environment, to the most highly educated and highly respectable leaders of our country. but it is sad to know that these respectable men are more interested in developing the economy of our country in a situation where the life on earth is at stake.
TO THE LEADERS OF INDIA: i am sure each one of you has given a thought about this, at least once. and now, we, the people of India are no more requesting you or suggesting you to take any action, but reminding you to collect all your thoughts and put into force for the greater good of the country and the world before it is too late to do so…………………..
A STITCH IN TIME, SAVES NINE…………………act b4 its toooooo late!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
December 17th, 2009 at 9:35 am
Hi,
Appreciate the entire idea behind the climate change, emissions protest.
But was just wondering, showing our protest by lighting candles isn’t
the most ideal way, in my opinion. The entire protest revolves around
glaciers melting, carbon emissions, planet heating up. And we are all
supposed to do the least bit we can to cut down on such. And by
lighting a candle on our behalf (though we pretty much click and
show our virtual support) the entire purpose is defeated with your lighting a candle on our behalf. Candles do
emit heat and smoke and other such emissions, right? What would be a better idea is to show solidarity or support by holding ice-cubes as they melt. Though ofcourse even that might have a connection to CFC emissions through
refrigeration. Just an idea, really. If we could come up with some
other way of showing support, a more hard-hitting way, I’m sure we’ll
see some results, however minute. Maybe something like every protestor turning up over there carries a sapling instead of a candle. Do let me know what you think.
Rohan.
December 17th, 2009 at 9:37 am
We are still too late to awake up……….any way be ready to fight against Global warming and do something for Earth and Nature.
December 17th, 2009 at 10:46 am
I think what Rohan said was correct. dont burn candles and pollute the world more. Take a sapling. or dont patronize anything connected with america for they are the biggest culprit in this doom.

In which direction our civilization is moving forward? Why we are building technologies?
If our works lead us to destruction nothing having a meaning. First we are to save our home make our civilization safe.We must give our next generation the World our elders forwarded to us.
So safe Earth 7 make it Green.

December 17th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
Its Great as someone has to take the initiatives…..as its now or never……….so i really hope its not too late for this…………since there are drastic climate changes , species are getting extinct…….and its really not the question of just saving us…….but saving as a whole -EARTH………which we see it as a resource for many of our common things and nothing else………..so people i guess it now time to really change our mindset……….. so just light a candle wont help……..we have to get down and change ourselves and see where we can help out also in our daily routine……….and these small things daily will add up to give a bigger result in the future……….and i hope the result will be a good one

Dear Mr Obama,
Yesterday some social activist has coined the phrase “If Not Now, Then When”. I do not know for whom you are waiting, and for what policies you people are talking at COPENHAGEN. This is the time when you should demonstrate leadership and through the example.
I always believe it’s always easy to say then act, at least being a developed nation we can accept some step from your side that this mass awareness program at copenhagen will give productive result.
Your sincerely,

Leaders of the developed nations must abstain fron plans of expoliting the developing countries on this grave issue.we demand accepance of the principal of ‘common but differentiated responsibility’and commensurate technological and financial transfers.Developed nations can no more abstain from taking the ‘historical resposnsibility’ for the disastrous effects of climate change. We will join ur efforts voluntarily provided u being the major polluters since 1850s commit reduction targets.

Its a complex situation but the solution is simple “ACT NOW” as the deadline was yesterday, concrete plan needs to be trashed out before a futile meeting ends with another deadline, another meeting… End the blame game and have faith in humanity, Bigger countries need bigger sacrifice, they cannot be allowed to grow at the cost of this Planet …your heart will probably say the correct thing not the brain, brain can be used as means to achieve what heart says to corner leaders who are failing to be a leader…. Whatever it is… the time ran out yesterday…there can be no plan “B” as we don’t have a planet “B”… its time to execute or perish in darkness forever…….

We are a Super Intelligent creature on the Planet EARTH and the Super Generation of the times in terms of intellectual and on a mental level and we are spoiling the mother earth. Are not we???
Yes we are. Just to gain some leisurely experiences and fulfilling our desires, firstly scrached the resources so much and then our over demands and desires spoiled the rest.
Now it is our moral responsibilty to act firlmy and quickly.
Moreover it is the responsibilty of the Leaders to lead from front and not to waste the money in having a cup of tea and coffee beacause it is not earned by their blood.
People are spoiling their life and precious time just earn those few perks to feed their family members.
And at last but not the last one, our mother EARTH has to feed hundereds of generations like us who are going to be more brave and intelligent to survive than we are.
Love to All and respect to elders.
Salutes the Leaders.

Denmark is a big shame
The sea is stained in red and in the mean while it’s not because of the climate effects of nature.
It’s because of the cruelty that the human beings (civilised human) kill hundreds of the famous and intelligent Calderon dolphins.
This happens every year in Feroe iland in Denmark . In this slaughter the main participants are young teens.
WHY?
To show that they are adults and mature…. BULLLLsh
In this big celebration, nothing is missing for the fun. Everyone is participating in one way or the other, killing or looking at the cruelty “supporting like a spectator”
Is it necessary to mention that the dolphin calderon, like all the other species of dolphins, it’s near instinction and they get near men to play and interact. In a way of PURE friendship
They don’t die instantly; they are cut 1, 2 or 3 times with thick hocks. And at that time the dolphins produce a grim extremely compatible with the cry of a new born child.
But he suffers and there’s no compassion till this sweet being slowly dies in its own blood
Its enough!
We will send this mail until this email arrives in any association defending the animals, we won’t only read. That would make us a cc omplices, viewers.
Take care of the world, it is your home!

The American way of living swallowed millions of jobs and lives last year by setting off a global econimic recession. We can control such systems as they are based on human actions and emotions. Can we deal with and control an environmental recession ? The bullish stand of the Americans is going to cause one….soon. Disrespect for one’s possesions ( yes the envioronment is the most priceless human possesion) and living on credit – the western way of “living life to the fullest”- has cost many worldwide.
How are we going to understand the emotions of the envioronment which we have been stripping down bit by bit. “Mother nature” some call it. Ever thought of stripping someone who brought you up? Bit by Bit… taking pleasure in every move and giving it an insane twist of it having an economic advantage? The other word for that is ” PIMP”. Someone rightly wrote that we should care for our parents where the earth is our mother. But will the western world understand this or drive the living world to the brink of extinction and that too after the depletion of all living forms on earth? How long wil humans survive in a simulated environment? Every person dreams of dying in a beautiful place ,lush with trees and clear water, birds chirping, children laughing…. With the personal economic priority the Western world has shown in this last few days in saving the earth, everyone should be prepared to die in either disasters, wars or in dilapilated lands full of disease , and extreme climate. Human life is too short to see the effect of the environmental pollution and plundering we have started the moment humans got intelligent. The Copenhagen summit could have revived the earth nominally when today’s generation is still around . Now they can just hope future generations will get “enlightened “.

Climate change is the collective term for the the alleged effects of global warming. These effects include warming temperatures, changing weather patterns, an increase in sea level and in general any climate event affected by global warming.
Climate change is one of the top environmental issues, with liberals and conservatives evenly divided on whether recent global warming is more natural or man-made.
Jack M. Hollander wrote:
“The planet has warmed since the mid-1800s, but before that it cooled for more than five centuries. Cycles of warming and cooling have been part of Earth’s natural climate history for millions of years. So what is the global warming debate about? It’s about the proposition that human use of fossil fuels has contributed significantly to the past century’s warming, and that expected future warming may have catastrophic global consequences. But hard evidence for this human contribution simply does not exist; the evidence we have is suggestive at best. Does that mean the human effects are not occurring? Not necessarily. But media coverage of global warming has been so alarmist that it fails to convey how flimsy the evidence really is. Most people don’t realize that many strong statements about a human contribution to global warming are based more on politics than on science. Indeed, the climate change issue has become so highly politicized that its scientific and political aspects are now almost indistinguishable.”
The main contention of environmentalists like Al Gore is the argument that:
1. The earth’s atmosphere warmed one or two degrees Fahrenheit (0.8 Centigrade) during the 20th century.
2. Most of this warming is man-made.
3. The warming is likely to continue and to be harmful to human, animal and plant life.
4. We must all work together to stop it by reducing emission of greenhouse gases.
Jack M. Hollander wrote:
“… climate change remains a fascinating and important scientific subject. Climate dynamics and climate history are extraordinarily complex, and despite intensive study for decades, scientists are not yet able to explain satisfactorily such basic phenomena as extreme weather events (hurricanes, tornadoes, droughts), El Nino variations, historical climate cycles, and trends of atmospheric temperatures. The scientific uncertainties about all these matters are great, and not surprisingly, competent scientists disagree in their interpretations of what is and is not known.”
William Happer wrote:
“The current debates about global climate change are complicated by our not understanding the physics of the sun or of the earth’s atmosphere and oceans well enough to dismiss them as major causes of climate change on the earth. Dramatic climate changes like the medieval warm period at the time of the Viking settlements of Iceland and Greenland from about a.d. 900 to 1250, and the subsequent “little ice age,” from about 1250 to 1700, which led to extinction of the Greenland settlements, were certainly not caused by manmade changes in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.”
As Christians, we should be concerned about our effect on our environment. God appointed man to be the steward of this world (Genesis 1:28), not the destroyer of it. However, we should not allow environmentalism to become a form of idolatry, where the “rights” of an inanimate planet and its non-human creatures are held in higher esteem than God (Romans 1:25) and man created in His image. With global warming, as with any other topic, it is crucial to understand what the facts are, who those facts come from, how they are interpreted, and what the spiritual implications should be.
A careful look at global warming, as a topic, shows that there is a great deal of disagreement about the facts and substance of climate change. Those who blame man for climate change often disagree about what facts lead them to that conclusion. Those who hold man totally innocent of it often ignore established facts. Experience and research leads us to believe that warming is, in fact, occurring; however, there is little to no objective evidence that man is the cause, nor that the effects will be catastrophic. I think the idea of earth “wearing out” is an apt analogy. This entire world has been continually decaying since the fall.
Global warming “facts” are notoriously hard to come by. One of the few facts universally agreed upon is that the current average temperature of Earth is indeed rising at this time. According to most estimates, this increase in temperature amounts to about 0.4-0.8 °C (0.72-1.44 °F) over the last 100 years. Data regarding times before that is not only highly theoretical, but very difficult to obtain with any accuracy. The very methods used to obtain historical temperature records are controversial, even between the most ardent supporters of the theory of human-caused climate change. The facts leading one to believe that humans are not responsible for the current change in temperature are as follows:
• Global temperature changes from past millennia, according to available data, were often severe and rapid, long before man supposedly had any impact at all. That is, the current climate change is not as unusual as some alarmists would like to believe.
• Recent recorded history mentions times of noticeable global warming and cooling, long before man had any ability to produce industrial emissions.
• Water vapor, not CO2, is the most influential greenhouse gas. It is difficult to determine what effect, if any, mankind has on worldwide water vapor levels.
• Given the small percentage of human-produced CO2, as compared to other greenhouse gases, human impact on global temperature may be as little as 1%.
• Global temperatures are known to be influenced by other, non-human-controlled factors, such as sunspot activity, orbital movement, volcanic activity, solar system effects, and so forth. CO2 emission is not the only plausible explanation for global warming.
• Ice-age temperature studies, although rough, frequently show temperatures changing before CO2 levels, not after. This calls into question the relationship between warming and carbon dioxide; in some cases, the data could easily be interpreted to indicate that warming caused an increase in carbon dioxide, rather than the reverse!
• Computer simulations used to “predict” or “demonstrate” global warming require the assumption of human causation, and even then are not typically repeatable or reliable. Current computer weather simulations are neither predictive nor repeatable.
• Most of the global temperature increase of the last 100 years occurred before most of the man-made CO2 was produced.
• In the 1970’s, global temperatures had actually been dropping since 1945, and a “global cooling” concern became prominent, despite what is now dismissed as a lack of scientific support.
• The “consensus” claimed by most global warming theorists is not scientific proof; rather, it is a statement of majority opinion. Scientific majorities have been wrongly influenced by politics and other factors in the past. Such agreement is not to be taken lightly, but it is not the same thing as hard proof.
• This “consensus,” as with many other scientific theories, can be partially explained by growing hostility to those with differing viewpoints, making it less likely that a person without preconceived notions would take on the subject for research. The financial and political ramifications of the global warming debate are too serious to be ignored, though they should not be central to any discussion.
• The data being used to support anthropogenic (man-caused) global warming is typically based on small data sets, single samples, or measurements taken in completely different regions. This creates an uncertainty in the results that rarely gets the attention that alarmist conclusions do.
While the above list is not exhaustive, it does include several of the major points that raise doubts about mankind’s actual effect on global temperatures. While no one can deny that warming is occurring, “overwhelming evidence” of any objective type does not exist to support the idea that global warming is significantly influenced by human actions. There is plenty of vague, short-sighted, and misunderstood data that can be seen as proving “anthropogenic” global warming theory. All too often, data used to blame humans for global warming is far less reliable than data used for other areas of study. It is a valid point of contention that the data used in these studies is frequently flawed, easily misinterpreted, and subject to preconception.
In regards to issues such as this, skepticism is not the same as disbelief. There are fragments of evidence to support both sides, and logical reasons to choose one interpretation over another. The question of anthropogenic global warming should not divide Christian believers from each other (Luke 11:17). Environmental issues are important, but they are not the most important questions facing mankind. Christians ought to treat our world with respect and good stewardship, but we should not allow politically-driven hysteria to dominate our view of the environment. Our relationship with God is not dependent on our belief in human-caused global warming.

TIME FOR A TIME CHANGE
For the past many days global warming and the UN Summit in Copenhagen has been in the news headlines. All of us across the world agree that global warming is a serious threat to planet earth. The international community is now united in its efforts to save the world from the effects of global warming. To achieve this, countries of the developed and developing world need to do everything possible including using New and Renewable Energy and reducing carbon intensity without compromising on growth.
Coal is the most important fuel for India’s power sector as it is the source of more than 50 per cent of generating capacity. Conserving energy includes reduction in transmission losses and reducing power consumption by judicious use of electricity both for industrial and domestic use. As India’s population is over a billion, even a small reduction in the use of power for domestic use by every citizen would result in a very large saving of energy. Thus we will also reduce our emission levels, as we would be burning less coal.
Daylight Saving Time (DST); also called summer time is practiced in some countries by advancing clocks so that afternoons have more daylight and mornings have less. In these countries clocks are adjusted forward by one hour near the start of spring and are adjusted backward in autumn. However, Indian Standard Time does not use Daylight Saving Time. One of the goals of DST was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting, primarily the use of electricity.
Based on the principle of DST, it is proposed to reduce energy consumption by changing the Indian Standard Time (IST). Presently IST is 5.5 hours (5 hours 30 minutes) ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+5.5) and is based on the local time at longitude 72.5 degrees East which passes through Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh. We can achieve this by advancing IST by half an hour to 6 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+6).
For a vast country like India with its land mostly located in the tropics, we could use the time zone of GMT+6 continuously throughout the year, instead of the yearly change during summer. By implementing this ‘time change’ every house would save on energy as the lights would be kept on after sunset for less time. This could be explained by the following example.
Let us take the case of a young executive, Mr. Bharat Nagarkar living in Nagpur, where the sun rises say, at 0600 hrs IST (GMT+5.5) on 31st March 2010. He, like the majority of others across the world likes waking up at sunrise time, i.e. at 0600 hrs (GMT+5.5). Presuming that we have changed IST to GMT+6 on 1st April 2010, the sunrise would now be at 0630 hrs GMT+6. Bharat and most others like him who like to wake up at sunrise, will now be waking up at 0630 hrs GMT+6. Since most households sparingly use electricity for lighting during morning hours, there would be no appreciable change in consumption during the morning hours.
Now see what happens in the evening. On 31st March 2010, say in Nagpur, the sunset time is at 1830 hrs. Bharat, like most others has a habit of going to bed ‘well before midnight’. So on a normal working day, after a busy and productive day at the office, he spends quality time at home with his wife and child, watches TV, reads for about an hour and goes to sleep at 2330 hrs IST (GMT+5.5). He and his family therefore use their home lighting from 1830 to 2330 hrs, for 5 hrs.
As we change over to the new IST, sunset time on 1st April 2010 would be at 1900 hrs GMT+6. Bharat and his family would be continuing their daily routine and would go to bed as usual, ‘well before midnight’. They would now be using electricity for their home lighting from 1900 to 2330 hrs, i.e. for 4 hrs 30 minutes. Thus they would be saving about 10% on lighting every day, year after year. To keep the above example simple, I have not accounted for the complexities of sidereal time or the small time difference in sunrise/sunset each day.
Like most middle class families in India, Bharat as well as those in other professions including agriculture make use of home appliances like televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and microwaves. Therefore the power saved on lighting in households as well as in public places (for street lighting etc.) across India would translate to about 5% of the total energy consumed. When we take into account the power used by industrial, commercial and other sectors, the overall savings may work out to only about 2 percent of India’s total power consumption. But for a country with a population of more than a billion consuming over 500 billion kWh of electricity each year, it would translate to 10 billion kWh saving every year. Statisticians would be able to give the exact figures. In turn, we will save on the expenditure on coal, conserve our natural resources and make an enormous contribution to our war against global warming.
For a smooth and efficient change over to +6GMT, it will require meticulous planning by all agencies including the central and state governments, railways, airlines, shipping and the private sector. I am of the view that too much time should not be spent on discussing this proposal by large committees or groups. Instead, a small team of experts appointed by the Govt. of India should analyse the pros and cons of this proposal. If found suitable, the proposed ‘time change’ should be implemented as early as possible. It requires no expenditure and it is not an impossible task. You may recollect that our late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi had the courage to implement the five day (working) week quickly without wasting time on discussion. Let us try this out for a year, and review it thereafter to see its benefits to our nation.
While sailing through many countries and oceans of the world, we mariners are required to reset our ship’s master clock to different time zones almost every day. Let us reset India’s master clock (IST) just once, and reap rich benefits by conserving energy as well as reducing emission levels. For Mother India and Planet Earth, it would make a world of difference.

Just do it. Its obvious we can slow it down. Maybe not fix it. Maybe not stop it completely, but we CAN slow it down and give us time to find a technology or a natural method to fix the issues. If we let this continue, more positive feedback loops will apear. Then we will lose and our Earth will change forever. I have no doubt the human race will survive… but other species won’t.

As soon as the socalled leades will be for real, they can demand and support the better/green ways, solutions, developments, products and thus the system of ecology, instead off moneypower. What we can do, is help them and ourselves/health, earthfuture, in refucing double packed products, package around fresh food, such as fruit and so on, demand every time come into the store, supermarket for biologic dynamic products, milk, eggs, vegetabels, chees, meat, all is possible, at first, it looks impossible, but, my experience is already here, because in the Netherlands the big supermarkets are selling most off the products i mentioned, 3 years ago a little shelf, now, many shelves and they are the first products, which are sold out, maybe u spend more money, but ut body will be thankfull, as well as earth, believe it, u can start this up.

As a vandguard entity for over 25 years, we have fought to preserve our planets ecological health. However, our battle has been hijacked by nefarious organizations within the United Nations, bent on usurping our wealth and freedom under the guise of “Global Warming”. Thousands of fellow climologist agree that global temperatures have not been climbing but actually decling and are not anthromorphic as proven by the recent revelations of fraud and deceit from the University of East Anglia and the IPCC.
Future caregivers of our beautiful planet, please ask the important questions. How, for example is ‘cap and trade’ able to reduce greenhouse gases? It can’t. It merely redistributes wealth from one entity to another. A deadly shell game that will eventually destroy the quality of life here on Earth forever.
January 2nd, 2010 at 4:20 pm
We have a moral and spiritual obligation to be good stewards of this planet….it’s not too late to do it right.
January 3rd, 2010 at 6:02 am
Global warming is no longer a debatable issue. We are all in this together and we need our leaders to be in unison and make wise decisions. I was counting on a more productive outcome but if things aren’t done yet then they must be done. Do not slow down to where there is no progress being made. Work on this has shown to be tough but tough it out no matter what. We can do better to protect this planet and our environment…!

hello everyone
it is very important to think and do something about climate change and global warming. it’s every individual’s duty to raise awareness and do something new to control these calamities or atleast reduce it’s bad and disasterous effects.we should think about future generations.
thank you.
January 21st, 2010 at 4:54 pm
hello everybody
it’s late but not too late. it’s everybody’s sole responsibility to control our ecological system by doing and raising awareness as well as doing substantially.global warming and ozone deplition is main problem and the culprit is none other we the the people.if everyone takes a step towards it the problem will vanish.so do something in right direction.
thank you.
January 23rd, 2010 at 8:25 pm
dear all,
really nice to see that some of us are trying to make changes which are really necessary now. I will be very pleased to know if we, personally, on our level by living in society doing something. We do not need to show this world that these are the main ideas we can apply to save this planet if we do everything mannerly and for the sake of our climate. Trust me, for a country like india, where i am living right now, where everyone says i love my india, and at the same time we are not leaving any chance to make worst climate for living. so it will be good if we take initiatives individually rather than complaining about our leaders.
Go out, apply your ideas, and make the change. “DO”

i am sure it is not required to suggest measures for the protection of our environment, to the most highly educated and highly respectable leaders of our country. but it is sad to know that these respectable men are more interested in developing the economy of our country in a situation where the life on earth is at stake.
February 24th, 2010 at 6:30 am
Its very sad to hear tht our leaders are not stepping back wen it comes to tis point… leaders are supposed to see our well being.. how could they jus walk back lik tht.. its not fair… u shud act according to our wish…to leaders of my country i could lik to say ur very educated.. and u know things better than us.. so act bit sensebly… please dont concentrate on economy n stuff… instead do it on environment…environment is more important for us than anything elz…
Act according to the situation n take action b4 its really late… dnt regret later for ur actions…..
February 28th, 2010 at 7:24 am
It is sad when we expect our leaders to do everything and we continue to exploit and plunder the earth. Let us all vow to do all we can to save our planet, starting with ME.

DEAR WORLD LEADERS
IT IS STILL POSSIBLE TO SAVE THIS WORLD FOR YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
RISE ABOVE THE REGIONAL POLITICS AND SAVE THE WORLD TO SAVE YOUR REGION TOO.
March 2nd, 2010 at 8:20 am
Indians have a peculiar habit. Anything good has to be imposed by a law. Be it standing in a queue or not to spit pan parag on the walls of the public buildings.
So it be of Indians, one way is to declare IT benefit for going green. then all the people including the big industrialist will lead forward.
Benefits towards good things need to be in terms of monetary benefit or other form . As China gives benefits for parents with one children.
Then the habits can change by itself to have have a more habitable place to live.
March 5th, 2010 at 4:44 am
IT IS OUR MISTAKE
it is our mistake to choose these leaders who are doing nothing about this serious issue.
1.we never questioned the leaders about what they are going to do for this global crisis when they campaigned our localities for votes .we were only interested in whether we are going to get some funds for our locality or not. many people are not even worried about that
2. we always kept preaching about planting trees and reducing carbon foot print which can make some difference but the impact of these actions is very less when compared to the damage done by neglecting the actions done by our leaders.
3. i was happy for a while when i planted hundreds of saplings along with my friends but that happiness did not last longer when some of the politicians have destroyed forest of 1000s of acres just for their benifit.no one has protested against it. how long i can plant saplings to counter the effects??
4. the situation is getting out of control because of this selfish politicians who are not at all worried about this issue.
OUR ROLE
we should identify the top 10 immediate actions that need to be done
we should say clearly that we are not going to vote to those politician who will not fulfil this action
still there is time for next elections.
start presuurising local leaders by saying that they are not going to win if they dont act immediately.
